Argentina investment citizenship · Decision guide

Argentina citizenship by investment for freelancers and consultants

A practical preparation guide to contracts, invoices and mixed income, the funds trail and the decisions outside the citizenship application.

Contracts, invoices and mixed income

Use client contracts, invoices, payment-platform statements and bank reconciliations to explain the money trail. Reconcile gross receipts, business expenses and what is actually available personally. These examples are not final government document requirements.

Work through a realistic scenario

A consultant has several clients and receives money through two platforms. A reconciled trail is more useful than a screenshot of total revenue; identify each paying party and transfer to the funding account.

Questions to resolve before committing funds

Who is your contracting entity? Do you need local registration or invoicing if you work in Argentina? Which receipts show lawful personal funds? Do not confuse business revenue with qualifying investment proof.

What the programme will assess

The announcement describes identity, lawful funds, financial background and other checks. No special occupational discount or shortcut is established by the sources checked here. Distinguish explaining your funds from satisfying final programme eligibility.

Build an adviser brief, not a public document upload

Record the questions locally and keep supporting records with authorized parties handling your case. eArgentina collects no identity or financial records. Confirm nationality consequences and current filing instructions separately.

Change note: Pricing and the planned opening window were announced on 2 October; implementation still needs verification.

Applies when: Foreigners evaluating the announced citizenship-by-investment program.

What remains uncertain: This announcement does not establish a live filing channel, full fees or final bond conditions. The Q4 window is a plan, not evidence that filing is open.

Get case-specific review when: You are assessing eligibility, committing funds or appointing a representative.

Family contributions

The announced additional Treasury contributions are US$100,000 for a spouse, US$100,000 per child aged 18–25 who is unmarried and has no children, and US$25,000 per child under 18. A main applicant, spouse and two minor children total US$500,000 on the contribution route.

Change note: The 2 October announcement specified family categories and amounts.

Applies when: An applicant seeking to include family members with evidence of the relationship.

What remains uncertain: Final dependent eligibility and extra fees need verification. The US$950,000 bond-family example is our arithmetic: US$800,000 plus US$150,000 in family contributions.

Application framework

Decree 524/2025 assigns APCI the evaluation and recommendation, and DNM the final citizenship decision. Its 30-working-day DNM period begins on receipt of APCI’s report, not when an applicant starts the process.

Change note: Existing procedure checked on 3 October 2026 alongside the new pricing announcement.

Applies when: Foreigners evaluating the announced citizenship-by-investment program.

What remains uncertain: The decree is the existing framework; it does not set the newly announced prices, the total processing time or a passport-delivery timetable. The current legal footing also needs review in light of citizenship litigation.
