Action task
Check your DNI path
Find out whether your current residence permits a DNI, and follow the instructions for your residence case.
Before you start
Your actual residence category, validity and the instructions attached to your case. You can prepare this check before approval.
Check the options before starting- Official source: DNI para extranjeros en el país
- Official source: Generación de CUIL
- Official source: CUIT y CDI — Extranjeros residentes en el país sin DNI argentino
Steps
- Check whether you have current temporary or permanent residence. Transitory residence does not enable a DNI.
- If residence is missing, expired or expires within 60 days, RENAPER directs you to resolve the residence position with Migraciones first.
- Open RENAPER’s foreigner-DNI instructions and the messages for your residence case. Confirm whether the DNI step is integrated or needs a separate appointment.
- Keep the receipt and tracking ID, confirm the delivery address, and follow any request for additional documents. Do not interpret an appointment-duration estimate as a delivery promise.
- After receiving the DNI, check whether a provisional CUIL or CUIT record needs unification or replacement with ANSES or ARCA.
How to know you are done
You know whether a DNI applies and have the correct case instructions, tracking details or a documented reason why the step must wait.
You mark completion; eArgentina does not verify it.
