Practical guide
Residence and DNI problems
Find the next action for a missing appointment, document request, renewal or delayed DNI. Use your actual case record and keep its official deadlines separate.
No RaDEX credentials or appointment email
After payment is credited, use Step 2 → Recuperar credenciales if access details did not arrive. Check the email address used and spam. After filing, the next message may be an appointment or a request for documents.
Keep: order/file number, receipts and the last message. If still stuck, send a focused query through DNM’s official contact channel; do not create a duplicate filing just to recover access.
A document request or failed upload
Open the residence case portal with your file number and birth date. Download the actual intimación and list each requested item before selecting Presente documentación. Keep case details in the official portal.
The linked July 2024 manual says PDF only, up to three files, and no further attachment after saving. Check the current screen, review the complete set, then confirm. Keep copies and the submission acknowledgement. If a required item cannot be supplied, ask the issuer how to respond before the stated deadline.
A document’s form was not accepted
Identify the exact reason: unreadable scan, inconsistent names, expiry, missing apostille/legalisation, translation or missing underlying record. Reopen the requirements of your actual residence category; do not assume every foreign document follows the same formalities.
Ask the authority to identify the missing formality in writing. Check it with the issuing authority or registered translator/notary before paying for a replacement. Keep the original signed file intact and retain the corrected submission record.
Temporary residence is approaching expiry
The DNM FAQ gives a 60-day pre-expiry renewal window and warns that late requests affect fees and renewal availability. Match the extension procedure to your current category; a DNI replacement is a separate question.
Prepare the current permission, file/identity records and evidence that the category still applies. Use the route’s actual checklist and keep its receipt. Add your own follow-up date in My Plan, while keeping the official deadline separately. If expired or abroad, get case guidance promptly.
Your precaria is nearing expiry
A precaria is not the same as an already granted temporary residence. Use the residence case portal to check its actual expiry and the available renewal action. The online petition is for people in Argentina.
Check which office issued it. DNM’s FAQ gives different renewal handling for Control de Permanencia and Extranjeros Judicializados; follow the issuer’s instructions. Keep the renewed certificate or the response explaining what is still required.
Tourist permission is expiring or has expired
Use the exact expiry on your entry permission. DNM lists a 10-day pre-expiry window for transitory extensions and requires a current permission for the tourist procedure. Do not borrow the temporary-residence renewal window.
The tourist page says an expired stay cannot be extended through that procedure. Ask DNM about your actual status and the applicable next route or exit requirements; do not assume a late-fee rule is permission to stay. Keep written guidance and your travel/entry records.
DNI delivery or incorrect details
First separate residence still pending from a DNI already being produced or delivered. Keep the DNI trámite/receipt number and check the current RENAPER instructions. Do not start another residence request just because delivery is delayed.
For incorrect DNI data, DNM’s FAQ directs correction to the processing office without an appointment. Confirm the current office/channel before travelling. Bring the card, receipt and records showing the correct data; keep the correction acknowledgement.
A written refusal or order to leave
Read the actual decision and notification date. An upload observation is not automatically a refusal. If the decision is adverse or permission is expiring, take the full record promptly to qualified legal assistance; identify the remedy and deadline that apply to that document.
Keep the notification, decision, case history and submitted documents. A helpdesk query or a personal follow-up date is not a substitute for filing the required legal response. This guide does not decide whether a challenge will succeed.
